The best of these software that can convert Arabic text are ABBYY FineReader with Arabic and IRIS ReadIRIS.

They are very accurate and have many advanced features to make the OCR process versatile and easy.

• FineReader has a 15-day limited demo of its Professional Non-Arabic version for Windows, which can give you a feel for the software but does not include Arabic conversion.


• ReadIRIS has 15-day limited demos of both its Windows and Mac versions. However, the demos are for version 11, since there are no newer demos available, which does not include Arabic conversion.

To download the demos, you will first need to create a free ScanStore user account or log in to your existing account.

If you'd like to evaluate the OCR capability of any software version that we do not have a demo for, you can e-mail us a couple of sample pages, preferably scanned at 300dpi in black & white (not greyscale or color), and let us know the format you would like them converted to.
