Question
: How often do I need to replace the rollers, pads and other consumables on my scanner?
Answer : Each roller or consumable usually has a maximum number of pages that it is rated for and should be replaced after this amount is reached. With heavy use, consumables may need replaced as often as every 60-90 days. With low to moderate use, they should last 6 months to 1 year.
The daily duty cycle also affects the rate at which you will need to change your consumables, so if you scan more pages in a day than the duty cycle is rated for, you will need to change the consumables more often than normal. You can find the daily duty cycle in our Scanner Search.
Another way to determine if you need to change the consumables is if you are having issues like mis-feeds, double-feeds, slipping, etc. If you have cleaned everything in your scanner and still have feeding issues, then changing the consumables will almost always solve the problem.
